While We Wait for the Next Big Signing, Our Coaches Are Sharpening the Tools

When we talk about building a better Shabana FC, our minds naturally go to the players.

Who is coming in?
Who will score the goals?
Who will wear the armband?
Who will lead the line for the Glamour Boys?

But there is another part of the team that has to keep improving too.

And right now, two men responsible for preparing our boys are doing exactly that.

Our Head Coach, Ahmed Fathi, and First Assistant Coach, Hesbon Nyabinge, were among the coaches taking part in the CAF A Refresher Course in Nairobi.

For us supporters, this is easy to overlook. There is no transfer announcement. No dramatic unveiling. No packed stadium.

But this is the kind of work that happens quietly before the football speaks for itself.

The game keeps changing

Football does not stand still.

What worked a few seasons ago may not work today. Training methods change. Tactical approaches evolve. Players have different demands. The modern coach has to keep learning.

That is why having Fathi and Nyabinge take part in a CAF A refresher course is significant for Shabana FC.

They are going back to the classroom to refresh their knowledge and sharpen their understanding of the game.

And when they return to the training ground, our players are the ones who can ultimately benefit.

What we should be watching for

Of course, a coaching course does not guarantee three points.

We know football better than that.

A certificate does not score a goal, make a tackle or save a penalty.

But the knowledge behind the people making those decisions matters.

How we train.

How we prepare for opponents.

How we organise ourselves.

How we respond when a match is not going our way.

Those small details can eventually separate a good side from a very good one.

That is where this becomes interesting for us.

Fathi, Nyabinge and the next chapter

Ahmed Fathi has the responsibility of leading the technical direction of the Glamour Boys, while Hesbon Nyabinge works alongside him as his first assistant.

Now both have had the opportunity to step away from the daily demands of club football and refresh their coaching knowledge.

The real question is what happens next.

Will we see new tactical ideas?

Will training sessions change?

Will certain players benefit from a different approach?

Will Shabana become more adaptable during matches?

Those are questions only the football can answer.

And that is exactly why we should be watching.

We want a Shabana FC that competes seriously.

We want a team capable of handling the pressure that comes with wearing the Glamour Boys badge.

That requires good players, yes.

But it also requires coaches who are willing to keep learning.
