Shabana FC Injury Update: Michira Begins Rehab As Maasai Faces Spell Out
By Shabananation • 5/15/2026
With just three league matches left in the 2025/26 FKF Premier League season, Shabana FC have received mixed news on the injury front following the club’s latest medical update released on May 12.
The Glamour Boys are entering a critical stage of the campaign after a difficult recent run that has seen goals become hard to find. Defeats to Mara Sugar and Kenya Police, alongside the frustrating goalless draw against Ulinzi Stars, have slowed momentum at exactly the wrong time. Now, squad fitness could play a major role in how Shabana finish the season.
Brian Michira Starts Rehabilitation
Forward Brian Michira Migiro has been diagnosed with a Grade I muscle strain affecting the adductor magnus.
The positive news is that the injury appears relatively minor compared to initial fears. The club confirmed that Michira has already commenced gym rehabilitation sessions as he works toward recovery.
For Shabana supporters, that offers some encouragement. Michira’s energy and movement in attack have been badly missed in recent weeks, especially at a time when the team has struggled for cutting edge in the final third.
While no exact return date has been provided, Grade I muscle strains are generally considered manageable injuries if recovery progresses well. With only three matches remaining, there remains a possibility he could still feature again before the season concludes.
Major Blow For Justine Omwando Maasai
The situation is more serious for defender Justine Omwando Maasai.
The club confirmed that Maasai suffered a hairline fracture of the right tibia and was scheduled for plaster application. He will continue using elbow crutches to minimize weight-bearing during recovery.
Shabana also revealed that follow-up MRI and X-ray assessments will be conducted in three weeks to evaluate healing progression.
Given the timeline, Maasai is unlikely to play again this season, a frustrating setback for both player and club during the final stretch of the campaign.
Three Matches Left
Shabana’s remaining fixtures:
- May 17: Bidco United vs Shabana FC
- May 23: Sofapaka vs Shabana FC
- May 30: Shabana FC vs KCB
With the season nearing its conclusion, squad depth and recovery will now become increasingly important.
Supporters will especially hope for positive progress from Michira, while Maasai’s focus now shifts fully toward recovery and returning stronger next season.
Despite the recent frustrations on the pitch, there is still belief around the squad that Shabana can finish the campaign strongly and give the fans something to celebrate in these final three games.
