Shabana FC was founded in 1982 by Kisii businessman Dogo Khan. The club quickly established itself as one of the leading teams in Kenyan football, earning a reputation for passionate support and competitive performances.

During the 1980s, Shabana became one of Kenya's strongest clubs. The team's success earned them a place in the 1988 African Cup of Champions Clubs (now the CAF Champions League), marking one of the most significant achievements in the club's history.
